Pied Shags, Care of Earth

Dayna and I often venture out to target birds and last weekend it was this colony of pied shags. You could smell them before you got to their nesting trees, that smell of old fish bait left in the sun..ewww!

I will have to ask Dayna to share some of her photos!

As much as the birds I enjoy going to these different pockets, this one is right opposite Pacific Bay where we live so was an interesting perspective looking back.

Im not sure who looks after this track, its pretty hard to do on the edge of the ocean but it was fantastic to see someone cared for it and even posted information on the plants there. It shows, I think the spirit of the Tutukaka Coast to share and care for its beauty.
